My Story

My name is Mick Amato. I am 36 years old, half Italian half Dutch, and I’m currently living in Maastricht, The Netherlands.

For a very long time, I had no idea who I was. Funny enough, I thought I did. In reality, I was navigating life through protective masks and survival patterns developed early in childhood to cope with pain and trauma. Over time, those walls did more harm than good, cutting me off from my true self and trapping me in cycles of deep anxiety, panic, and an overwhelming internal emptiness. I tried to numb that discomfort through destructive habits and substance use, constantly running to escape myself. No matter how far I went, the shadow always followed me.

That way of living eventually led to a breaking point. A profound collapse where I realized I could no longer keep doing things the same way. In that moment of complete vulnerability, forced by pain, I finally stopped running and asked for help. I faced the hard truth, that I was the only responsible for my own life. That painful surrender became the seed of my transformation. I coud no hide anymore. I decided to follow my truth, no matter what.

I began the slow, courageous journey of turning inward, holding space for that frightened little boy I had left behind for so many years, and learning to care for myself through honesty and compassion. That personal awakening completely shifted my path.

At 29, I decided to leave my corporate job as an account manager and dedicate my life to healing and understanding the human mind and soul. I earned a degree in Social Work, completed a post-graduate specialization as a Lifestyle Coach, and trained as a meditation and breathwork teacher—practices that are now absolute anchors of my daily peace. Over the last few years, something profound has been shifting within me toward a deeper spiritual awakening, allowing me to disidentify more and more from my old patterns and false beliefs while remaining anchored and centered, embracing the truth inside.

In my career, I have worked deeply with others: guiding people through addiction recovery in clinics, supporting children with psychological challenges in schools, and helping adults face severe mental health struggles in psychiatric care. Through it all, both in my own healing and in my work, I learned something vital: our destructive habits, addictions, or constant running are never the real problem. They are just symptoms of a deeper, universal problem: We don’t know who we are. We are disconnected from our real nature.

Today, I have started my own independent practice to offer the kind of human-to-human, compassionate support I believe in. I am not here as a distant coach, but as someone who knows what it feels like to be lost and has walked the path back to himself. We are here to know ourselves, drop the illusions, and live authentically. If we are willing to look inward with love and honesty, life begins to flower again.

You are worth it, and you don’t have to walk that path alone

Are you ready to remember who you really are? I am here to guide you on your unique path back to your truth.

A warm embrace,

Mick
